Kelly
Rick grew up loving and performing music.  His first public performance was at age eight in front of over
100 boy scouts and parents.  Getting his inspiration from musicians that came and went in the rock 'n roll
bands of his older brother, as well as from his mother and uncle, who played and sang many old-time
country favorites; he learned and played a variety of music styles.  He later began writing his own songs
and took the stage as a folk singer/songwriter.

Wearing two hats, one as a musician and the other as an educator, (environmental and human relations),
he began using his musical talents to voice the message of environmental awareness and hope for a
peaceful world, teaching and performing at many centers around the country.  He has played various
venues coast to coast featuring his originals and his first recording, "Do What Ya Can".

After years of traveling, he landed back in his home state of Michigan, and took on an intense project of
developing a peace education center.  As part of the program, he hosted a folk coffee house which
continues now into its fifteenth year.  During the time at the Wagbo Peace Center, he continued
performing at local festivals, coffee houses, rallies and the like, featuring his second recording "Swords
Into Plowshares".

In the most recent years, he has returned to more full-time music, both locally and touring, and has been
sharing his latest solo recording, "How Did I Get Here?"

Though he continues to do his solo singer/songwriter gigs, he has teamed up with Kelly Shively, also a
singer/songwriter, pleasing audiences with the full-sounding duet Harmony & Grits.
